Industrial Automation and PLC Controls Technician

A day in the lifeYou start your shift by reviewing overnight maintenance logs. A line shows intermittent faults—time to investigate. With your laptop connected to the PLC, you trace ladder logic, pinpoint an input anomaly, and correct it. You verify electrical loads, confirm proper breaker and transformer sizing, and restore the machinery to full operation. Later, you rewire a new station on a conveyor, update PLC programs, and document everything in accordance with SOPs and all applicable state, local, and National Electrical Codes. Before the day ends, you order the parts needed for upcoming preventive work and double-check electrical schematics for an upcoming changeover.
